Plot
McGarret and Miles set up a plan to catch a known international weapons dealer/smuggler, Miguel Torreto. The plan is to set up a sting with the help of Martin Barrata, a crime boss who has had a history of purchasing from Torreto in the past. The deal goes without flaw until Torreto notices something is wrong and realizes he was set up. The fight is on. Weapons fire is exchanged from both parties and Torreto makes a break for freedom. McGarret chases after him. The two engage in hand to hand combat. When it looks as if Torreto has gained the upper hand, McGarret pulls on him and shoots him dead.
[Open to landscape scene, wide angle. McGarret and Miles exit the car with Barrata following.]
[while talking, McGarret and Miles are gearing up, with weapons]
[close on group, more focuse on mcgarret]
Mcgarret- "Alright, we have a couple of minutes before he is suppose to be here. Let's go over this one more time"
Miles- "again?" [exasperated]
McGarret- " yes, again" [follow] "Ok, so when our guy gets here Baratta, you have to keep him talking as long as possible, act natural. Then, you're going to hand him the case of money, like you always have. As soon as Torreto has the case, Miles, that’s when you and I move on him."
Barrata- "This is suicide compa. Absolutely insane! He's gonna know something's up man!"
McGarret- 'Not if you act the way you're supposed to, he won't"
Miles- "Henry, I got to go with scum bag over here. This is crazy. SHouldn't we wait for some support?"
McGarret- "There is no time. Torreto is leaving the country for Columbia in half an hour. Once he's gone, he's off the grid for good. We can't afford to lose him again."
Miles [to Baratta]- "How much security is he gonna have?"
Barrata " Should only be 1 or 2 guys with him. That's what he always brings."
[car in distance]
McGarret- "ok, here he comes'
Miles- "This is nuts boss"
McGarret [laughing] - "We're Marshals. Crazy is what we do."
[Torreto pulls up in car and exits along with 4 Body Gaurds]
Miles [whispering] - "1 or 2, eh, Barrata? where did you learn to count?"
McGarret [whispering]- "Easy…"
[Wide shot, two group facing one another]
Torreto [smiling]- "Martin, my man. Good to see you."
Barrata- " How you doing Miguel? Hot enough for ya'?
Torreto -"Always the comedian. New guys?" [pointing to McGarret and Miles]
Barrata- "You know, me. I like to ….eh….mix things up"
Torreto [staling for a second, then smiling]-"I guess. I'm just busting you man. So, is that the rest of the payment? All of it?"
Barrata- " Come on amigo. Have I ever been light before?"
Torreto- "Good point"
Barrata- " And my weapons?"
Torreto- "Being delivered as we speak. Have I ever been late before?"
Barrata- "Good point"
[Barrata sets the bag down then backs away a little. Torreto walk over and almost picks up bag]
[Camera sharp and close on Barratas face. Sweat (water) rolling down face with nervous expression watching Torreto]
Torreto- "You nervous about something?"
Barrata- [wiping sweat] "No No, it's this damn heat"
Torreto -"I hear ya' hermano, I hear ya'. So, I gotta' leave here in a minute, but I was meaning to talk to you about the deal down in Columbia. I'm going down there to check on it right now, but I was gonna ask you if…."
[wind blows and McGarret's badge under his jacket is exposed for a split second.]
Torreto [chuckles] - "Hold that thought. I got something for you before I leave."
Torreto {walking over to the car] (in Spanish) "This is a set up"
McGarret-"Oh no…"
Miles-"Oh no? Oh no what? What's wrong?" [Worried to teh camera]
McGarret-" He knows what this is.
[Torreto opens car door and takes out an AK-47 cut down]
Torreto- "Go to hell pigs!" [firing Ak-47]
*** A this point, a fire fight as ensued. Barrata is killed immediatly and the two marshals take cover. Acion/handhelp feel. McGarret manages to escape and chase after Torreto who is making a break for it. McGarret and Torreto exchange small arms fire with one another then entyer an empty building. here, Torreto gets the drop of McGarret and a hand to hand fight takes place (coordinate).***
[After a small part of the fight]
McGarret-" You're not getting out of this one Torreto. You're done
Torreto- That's waht you think amigo. Lets see how good you really think you are. eh?
***Fighting takes place and it pretty well matched. Towords the end, Torreto gets lucky and get the upper hand over McGarret. However, as Torreto reaches for his gun, McGarret manages to grab his and get a draw on Torreto before Torreto can do the same on him. At this point, only McGarret is pointing a gun, but both have them.***
[The two men looking at each other. Torreto looks at McGarret's gun then at his own."
McGarret- "Try it. See what happens."
{Torreto looks up at McGarret]
Torreto [smiling, yells something misc. in Spanish and raised the gun on McGarret]
McGarret shoots Torreto 3 times, dead.
*** Option, slow motion shot, bullet time shot, or reg. shot. FILM VERSIONS FOR ALL***
McGarret lowers gun and stares at Torreto for a short time, before turning around and walking off, wiping the blood from his face."
Sharp Cut out.
